Squid Masala

Recipe of Squid Masala 

Preparation Time: 30 minutes

Cooking Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:


  • Squid cleaned 200 grams and cut into small ring pieces
  • Onions  finely Chopped 2 medium size
  • Tomatoes finely chopped 2 medium size
  • Ginger finely chopped 1 inch
  • Garlic  cloves finely chopped 8-9 
  • Curry leaves 15 to 16
  • Fresh coriander leaves 1 tbsp for garnish
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  • Green chillies slit 2
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Black pepper powder 1 tsp
  • Oil 2-3 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Slice Lemon wedges to serve

Procedure

Squid Marination Method:

  • Atfirst we place squids in a bowl. Then add  1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp red chilli powder,ginger garlic paste 1 tsp,lemon juice 1 tsp and little bit of salt.
  • Mix it properly and keep it side for 20 minutes.

Masala Make Method:

  • Heat up a non-stick pan, add 2 tbsp cooking oil and add finely chopped ginger and garlic.Saute it for a minutes.
  • Then add curry leaves and saute for a minutes.
  • Then add finely chopped onions and fry till they turn golden brown.
  • Add chopped tomatoes,salt and fry till it turns soft & mushy.Cook till it oil separated.
  • Add 2 slit green chillies,mix it very well and cook it for 2 minutes in a medium flame.

Squid Masala Make Method:

  • Heat vegetable oil (Coconut oil also you can use here) in another non-stick pan.Add remaining curry leaves and marinated squids.Then stir and cook it on high flame for 2- 3 minutes till it half done and eventually cook it same way for  another 5-7 minutes.In the begining its leave a lot of moisture but continue we cook in a high flame.
  • Then add the Masala, remaining red chillies powder and mix it nicely.Now it cook for 2 minutes more.
  • Then add little water to bring the squids and masala are together.Cover it and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  • Remind onece it overcook then its gets like rubbery.So after 5 minutes turn off the gas flame and its ready to eat.
  •  Add some lemon juice, sprinkle little black pepper powder and mix it well.
  • Then garnish with fresh chopped coriander leaves and slice lemon wedges.
  • Serve Hot Squid Masala with plain white rice.
