Matar Paneer Masala


Recipe Of Matar Paneer Masala

Preparation Time : 30 Minutes

Ingredients:


For Tomato & Onion Paste 

  • Medium size onion 2 , finely chopped
  • Medium size tomato 2 , finely chopped
  • Garlic Cloves 5 to 6 
  • Ginger 1 inch
  • Cashewes 5 to 6 
  • Cinnamon stick 1 inch
  • Green Cardamom 2 
  • Clove(lawang) 2
  • Cooking Oil 2 tsp

Other Ingredients

  • Paneer (Indian cottage cheese) 200 gm
  • Cumin seeds (jeera) 1/2 tsp
  • Bay leaves ( tej patta) 1 or 2
  • Kashmiri red chiili powder 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp(tea spoon)
  • Turmeric (haldi) powder 1 tbsp
  • Garam Masala powder 1 tbsp( table spoon)
  • Dry fenugreek leaves(kasuri methi)crushed
  • Sugar 1/2 tsp (optional)
  • Peas fresh or  frozen 1/2 cup
  • Fresh yogurt or curd 2 tbsp 
  • Chopped coriander leaves 1 tbsp (garnish)
  • A cup of water to adjust consistency
  • Cooking Oil 4-5 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Butter 1 small cube (for garnish)

How to make Onion -Tomato paste recipe

  • Firstly heat oil in a pan and add Cinnamon,green cardamom,cloves to it.
  •  Add chopped onion, garlic,ginger and saute on medium flame till it start becoming slightly brown.
  • Then add chopped tomatoes and saute till they turn soft.
  • Finnaly add cashews and blend to smooth paste .

Matar Paneer  Masala Recipe

  • Firstly take a pan and heat 2 tbsp of oil.
  • Add  paneer cubes and fry in a medium flame till the paneer cubes have become lightly brown. keep it aside.
  • Then in the same pan add oil.
  • Add cumin seeds,cinnamon and bay leaf.
  • Add kashmiri red chilli  powder and turmeric powder directly to oil. Saute well.
  • Then add onion-tomato smooth paste and cook till oil releases from sides.
  • Add cumin powder,coriander powder,garam masala powder, sugar ,salt and fry it on medium flame till spices get  cooked well.
  • Add 1 cup of water with 2 tbsp of fresh yogurt and mix it.
  • Further add peas and paneer cubes.
  • Cheaked the consistency add plain water if needed.
  • Then cover it and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Further add 1/2 tsp garam masala, 1/4 tsp dry fenugreek leaves and mix well.
  • Then garnish with freshly chopped  coriander leaves and butter cube.
  • Finally serve Matar Paneer Masala with Tandoori Roti or Butter Naan.
